What is Cognia accreditation?
Cognia is a school accrediting organization that evaluates schools against established standards for learning, teaching, leadership, and continuous improvement. Accreditation is not automatic and it is not purchased — a school must demonstrate that it meets those standards and commit to ongoing improvement to earn and keep it.
What accreditation means for your child’s diploma and transcripts
In general terms, accreditation matters because it speaks to how a school’s work is regarded by others:
- Diplomas: A diploma from an accredited school is broadly recognized as coming from an institution that has been independently reviewed against quality standards.
- Transcripts and transfers: If a student moves to another school, accredited status generally supports the receiving school’s review and acceptance of the student’s coursework and transcripts.
- College recognition: Colleges and universities routinely consider applications from accredited schools as part of their admissions process, and accreditation is one of the signals they use when evaluating a student’s school.
Every receiving school and college sets its own transfer and admissions policies, so if you have a specific institution in mind, we encourage you to confirm its policy with them directly — and our academic counseling team (Online School Program) or support teachers (Homeschool Program) can help you plan around it.
Accreditation across both of our programs
Accreditation applies to Future Edge Academy as a school, across both pathways:
- Online School Program ($650/month): live interactive classes, structured daily schedule, 24/7 coursework access, progress and grade reports, academic counseling, and attendance tracking
- Homeschool Program ($200/month): full K–12 curriculum, parent-led with a flexible schedule, academic consultations, certified support teachers, and progress tracking
Enrollment in either program is open year-round, with a $100 registration fee.
